If you want to get traffic to your site there are few way to go. You can write articles and post it to article directories. Also you can get traffic with social bookmarking, directory submission or commenting on blogs. I use to make 1000 USD per month with blogging. That was the better days, because my blog had a page rank.
Article directories: If you can write about your site and post your article to many directories or if you wonder what sinusitis dizziness is you can look up in the article directories.
Social bookmarking: If you like to share your site with others you can social bookmark the site. This way there will be visitors who be checking your site. Social bookmarking is just more than sharing. You also can save your favourite sites on one site. This was the main purpose of social bookmarking.
Directory submission: If you can submit your site into many directories you will have a link back this means that your site will be visible in the search engines in no time. Having a high visibility means more traffic to your site.
Comment on blogs: You can comment on blogs to get a link back. This way you can get traffic from other blogs.
